The Oak Bay Tea Party began as a “one time event” in the summer of 1962 when the late Allan Cox, Q.C. was the Reeve of Oak Bay. It was so successful that it became an annual event since then.
Salsa Caliente will be performing on the stage at this FREE outdoor event from 4:00- 5:00pm featuring routines by all of our teams.
Then stay and dance with us to The Commodores Big Band from 5:00- 6:00pm!
Salsa Caliente is an internationally touring powerhouse based in the heart of Victoria, BC. Under the direction of World Salsa University certified instructor and choreographer Christina Morrison, Salsa Caliente has spent over two decades as cultural ambassadors, elevating the standard of Latin dance on Vancouver Island. Known for musical choreography, technique, and a passion for the history and culture of the dance, Salsa Caliente has represented Canada on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the New York & Puerto Rico Salsa Congresses, the World Salsa Open, and Tempo Latino in France. Salsa Caliente’s dancers have had the honor of dancing on stage with Grammy winning musicians including Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Charlie Aponte, Jose Alberto “El Canario” and more. From the street festivals of Victoria to the lights of international Salsa Congresses, Salsa Caliente provides quality instruction, performance opportunities and social gatherings for all levels in an inclusive and welcoming community.
